Direct Data Sharing — Usage Policy & Terms
ZALANDO SE · PARTNER TECHNOLOGY
Version: 1.0 Effective: October 2026 Classification: Partner Facing
Note
This document sets out the terms governing access to and use of the Zalando Direct Data Sharing service ("DDS"). It applies to all partners who have been granted or are requesting access to DDS. The terms of your existing Partner Agreement with Zalando remain unaffected and continue to apply in full.
1. Permitted Use
1.1 Data provided via DDS is for your internal business purposes related to your partnership with Zalando only.
1.2 Redistribution or commercialisation of the data to third parties is prohibited.
2. Technical Obligations
2.1 Delta synchronisation. Specific shares may be subject to dataset-specific usage policies. On an ongoing basis, partners are expected to fetch only the required subset of records and not the entire share. Adhering to this requirement significantly improves data fetch performance on the partner side. The specific usage policy for each dataset is set out in the corresponding technical documentation.
2.2 Frequency restriction. Zalando publishes a Service Level Objective (SLO) and update frequency for each share in the respective technical documentation. Partners are expected to fetch data in accordance with the published SLO and update frequency. Polling at intervals shorter than the published update frequency provides no additional benefit. Zalando reserves the right to update these technical requirements at any time.
2.3 Geographical restriction. Accessing DDS shares is permitted only from within the European Union.
2.4 Error handling. Partners are expected to handle error codes by investigating and resolving the underlying issues. Continuously retrying the same broken request in a loop is not permitted. Further guidance is available in the credentials management documentation.
2.5 Versioning and deprecation. Datasets available via DDS may be versioned or discontinued in the future. Partners are responsible for implementing the appropriate connection logic to support dataset versioning. Please refer to our versioning and deprecation policy.
3. Enforcement
3.1 Partners found to be in consistent breach of the obligations set out in this document will be contacted by Zalando.
3.2 Continued non-compliance may result in DDS access being suspended or removed.
4. Zalando's Right to Modify and Suspend
4.1 Zalando reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate a partner's access to DDS or the service as a whole at any time at Zalando's sole discretion, with reasonable notice where possible, or immediately in the event of a breach of the terms set out herein.
4.2 This service may become subject to specific fees or a separate formal agreement in the future. Partners will be informed in advance of any such change.
5. No Warranty and Limitation of Liability
5.1 DDS is a voluntary service provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Zalando does not warrant or guarantee that the data is error-free, complete, correct, usable, suitable or updated in real-time.
5.2 Partners are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of data retrieved via DDS before using it for business decisions or automated processes. Partners are expected to apply appropriate validation and due diligence within their own systems.
5.3 Zalando shall not be held liable for any disruptions, losses or damages arising from reliance on DDS data, or from missed updates, versioning changes or sunsetting notices in respect of which the partner was not individually contacted.
6. How to Acknowledge
6.1 Please send us and email stating: "I agree to the Zalando Direct Data Sharing Usage Policy & Terms."
6.2 Your email constitutes your acceptance of these terms on behalf of your organisation. Please ensure the message is sent by a person authorised to enter into agreements on behalf of your organisation.
